Annual
Bishop's Outdoor Mass
Father
Lacombe Care Centre
Sunday, September 13
The
weather for the 11 am Mass was picture perfect. The Father
Lacombe Care Centre was busy as usual with caregivers
and residents in a collective fine mood.
Council
7432's assigned task was to guide those attendees who
were unfamiliar with the Facility to the location where
the Mass was being held. We were asked to do this because
it is a little bit busy at the main entrance and in the
corridors making it somewhat confusing to get to the right
location in the courtyard easily.
We
arrived at the FLCC for our ushering shift just before
10 AM. We firstly spent a bit of time getting introduced
to Brother Knights from other Councils as well as Fourth
Degree Knights. We then familiarized ourselves with the
route the attendees would have to take through the Facility.
In the courtyard, we were impressed with the size of the
tent covering the seating area. It was a real boon to
have the cover that day as the heat of the sun would have
made it a little warm for the attendees during the Mass.
Brother Knights were there already preparing the Bar-B-Que
for the post-Mass meal.
While
a good portion of the attendees had been to the Bishop's
Outdoor Mass at FLCC over the years and had no trouble
finding the location, there were many who needed to be
directed. The time passed very quickly for us and before
we knew it, the seating area was full and Mass began at
11 AM sharp.
Thanks
to the organizers of the Mass for giving us this opportunity
to help and to Bro. Dan Burns who guided the attendees
so capably.
Bro.
