Ladies
Appreciation Night 2010
Saturday,
April 17
Ninety
five meals, a live theatrical production by the ‘Bandicoots’,
and with the chatter of the crowd undoubtedly many tales
were retold, making the evening a great deal of fun! The
event was Ladies Night 2010.
Held
in the Parish Hall Saturday, April 17, the turnout was
just a few short of 100. Father Angelo
and Father Alfredo were guests, as well
as District Deputy Brother Ray Khuller.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Khuller was delayed with business
and unable to make it to the event.
The
theme of the banquet was about the wonderful country of
Australia. Australian specialties were prepared for a
tasty dinner followed by a play. Finn McCool, a strange
character from OZ, was narrator of the play ‘Sydney
or the Bush’ which was really an enactment of a
bus tour of southern and central Australia.
Ten
Brothers demonstrated rarely seen acting skills, and even
”Roo” made an appearance. Finn McCool’
was played by Brother Mike Kelly whose
name was drawn for a special prize from the Wolf Blass
winery.
The
play was a success. Everyone enjoyed it immensely. Many
Brothers assisted, offering their talents to put the event
together.
Brother
Art LeBlanc’s company donated $100
for the purchase of floral gifts for the ladies and a
number of local businesses provided donations and gifts
for draws and spot dances.
The
evening slipped by quickly. Everyone expressed a sincere
‘thank you’ for the banquet event of the year.
Thanks
to all for your help and participation!
